1.1 Use of the UK Trade & Investment website (www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk) is subject to the following terms and conditions. www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk is managed by UK Trade & Investment the organisation that supports both businesses in the UK trading internationally and overseas enterprises seeking to locate in the UK. In entering and using our site you as a user (‘You’) are accepting our terms and conditions.
2. Using UK Trade & Investment website
2.1 www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk is maintained for your personal use and viewing. The access and use of www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk featuring these terms and conditions constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions. They take effect from the date on which you first use this website.

7.1 Privacy Policy: Data Protection Act 1998 and The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003
This Privacy Policy covers the treatment of personal data (as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998) which you submit to us. 7.3 The data is to be collected for the purpose of promoting UK business competitiveness, to help secure overseas sales and investments and to support and develop UK inward investment.
7.4 In order to provide you with advice, further information or support, the personal data may be passed to your local UK Trade & Investment team in England (or your equivalent in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland) or the Regional Development Agencies in England (and the Development Agencies for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) or to a carefully selected UK based Trade Association or Chamber of Commerce.
7.5 When you accept the UK Trade & Investment’s website’s Terms and Conditions and submit personal data to us, you understand and agree that:
- This may involve the information being used by UK Trade and Investment or the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform for direct marketing and other activities for trade & investment purposes.
- Your local UK Trade & Investment Team (or your equivalent in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland), the Regional Development Agencies in England (and the Development Agencies for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), or a selected UK based Trade Association or Chamber of Commerce may also contact you directly in the future in relation to offering related services.
- It may also involve the transfer of data outside the European Economic Area to our overseas offices.
- UK Trade & Investment may send you marketing information about UK Trade & Investment by e-mail.
7.6 If you do not want your details to be used in any of the ways described in paragraph 7.5, please change your Data Protection permissions, once you are registered on the website. To do this, log into the website using your username and password. From the menu on the left, click ‘My Account’ and then ‘Change Account Details’. You may change your Data Protection permissions in this way at any time once you are registered on the website.
7.7 Use of Cookies

8. Registration and security
8.1 You can register and enrol as an individual or on behalf of an organisation for the UK Trade & Investment website using the online form on this website. If you register and enrol on the UK Trade & Investment website the details you provide to enrol for the website service may be further verified by UK Trade & Investment. Subject to satisfactory verification your details including your name and email address would be stored securely on the UK Trade & Investment system in accordance with our privacy policy. You can view our privacy policy at paragraph 7 above.
8.2 As part of the registration process for this website, you will select a user name and password to access the UK Trade & Investment website. You shall provide us with accurate and complete information. Failure to do so shall constitute a breach of this agreement, which may result in immediate termination of your account. You hereby agree to inform UK Trade & Investment or its agents of any changes of the information, when such changes occur or requested by UK Trade & Investment or its agents, by following the steps described in paragraph 7.8 above.
8.3 You may not select or use as your Account ID a name of another person with the intent to impersonate that person. If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or if UK Trade & Investment has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, UK Trade & Investment has the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the service (or any portion thereof). We reserve the right to refuse registration of or cancel your Account at our discretion.
8.4 UK Trade & Investment has the right to delete, retract and erase all (or any part thereof) of your information from databases forthwith upon written notice to you stating the reason for such action. UK Trade & Investment agrees to provide to you free of charge within a reasonable time upon written request a copy of your information contained in the databases.
9.Termination
You agree that UK Trade & Investment in its sole discretion, may terminate your password, account (or any part thereof) or use of the service, and remove and discard any content within the service, for any reason, including, without limitation, lack of use or if UK Trade & Investment believes that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of the terms and conditions. UK Trade & Investment may also in its sole discretion and at any time discontinue providing the service, or any part thereof, with or without notice. You agree that any termination of your access to the service under any provision of this terms and conditions may be effected without prior notice, and acknowledge and agree that UK Trade & Investment may immediately deactivate or delete your account and all related information and files in your account and/ or bar any further access to such files or the service. Further, you agree that UK Trade & Investment shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to the service.
